Our final hands on assignment (other than the summative) is to complete a brief 2-3 minute informative doc on an event, club or issue at the school.

Assignment.  There are a variety of options. You should be working in groups of 3-5.

Today we will begin our documentary unit.

I’ll be giving a brief PowerPoint to introduce the different types of documentaries and different forms and conventions.

We also will be watching a few clips from different documentaries.

For the latter portion of the class and for Friday we will be watching the documentary: The Corporation.

To wrap up our lessons on TV and film analysis you are to complete an assignment that has you choose to either analyze bias in news broadcasts, analyze how society is mirrored in satire or how violence is portrayed on TV.

Comedy as a Mirror to Society
